Hurricane Season is upon us!
While those visiting may have wished for clearer skies, thetropical rains of summer are truly an event to marvel at. The mountains come alive in June, the canopy teeming with bird and animal life of every kind.
Never ones to shrink under the challenges that weather throws our way, we stand firm and tall in solidarity with our fellow citizens and visitors to our beautiful city and offer some tips for enjoying the summer season as we wait for the sun to return.
Bird Watching
The rivers that were little more than a trickle a week ago, have become gushing fountains of life for the flora and fauna that inhabit the Sierra Madre mountains and the coast at their base. If you are a bird watcher, expect to see the return of the majestic Egret, listen to the boisterous macaws, marvel at the grace of hummingbirds, or watch in awe flocks of giant as pelicans dive into ocean to grab the fish that congregate at the mouths the multitude of Puerto Vallarta´s rivers.
Hiking
If bird watching is not for you, then you can opt for an exciting canopy tour or mountain hike. There are several beautiful locations that you can enjoy like Canopy El Nogalito, Los Veranos Canopy or River Canopy. Take your rain boots and your raincoats and expect to get muddy. If you only came with beachwear, fret not you can pick up almost anything you need in Vallarta.
Shopping
There are three major shopping centers in Vallarta and a plethora of Shops in the Historic Center and Along Olas Altas. Bin name brand like Pepe Jeans, The Body Shop and Nike can be found in Vallarta´s newest shopping mall. Liverpool, one of Mexico´s most prestigious departments stores is also located there. And you tire of shopping why not catch a film at the local…
Cinema
Vallarta has 3 major Cineplex’s offering the very latest of block busting movies and independent Mexican Films. Most English language films are subtitled in spanish giving visitors a great opportunity to brush up on their spanish.

Avistamiento de Aves
Los ríos que hasta hace una semana eran un simple hilo de agua, se han convertido en fuentes de vida para la flora y fauna que habita en las montañas de la Sierra Madre abarcando también la zona costera. Si eres un observador de pájaros, prepárate para observar el regreso de la majestuosa garza, el bullicio de las guacamayas; maravillarte con la gracia de los colibríes u observar bandadas impresionantes de pelicanos que se sumergen en el mar para agarrar a los peces que se congregan en las desembocadas de los ríos de Puerto Vallarta.
Actividades Eco-turísticas
Si observar pájaros no es lo tuyo, entonces puedes optar por un excitante tour de canopy o excursión de montaña; hay infinidad de locaciones canopy que puedes disfrutar como: el Nogalito, Los veranos, o River Canopy. Ponte tus botas de lluvia e impermeable, y prepárate para enlodarte. Si sólo vienes con ropa de playa, no te preocupes, en Vallarta tienes muchas opciones para divertirte.
Compras
Existen tres principales centros comerciales en Vallarta e infinidad de tiendas en el centro histórico y a lo largo de Olas Altas. Marcas como Pepe Jeans, The Body Shop y Nike, están disponibles en el centro comercial más nuevo de Vallarta. Liverpool, una de las tiendas departamentales más prestigiosas de México se encuentra en el mismo lugar. Y si estás cansado de hacer compras ¿por qué no ver una película ahí mismo?
Cine
Vallarta cuenta con tres importantes complejos, proyectando las películas más taquilleras, y lo mejor del cine independiente mexicano. La mayoría de las películas están subtituladas al español, brindándoles a los visitantes la oportunidad de practicar su español.

Puerto Vallarta Passes US Agency's Safety Assessment
The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board appointed Thomas Dale & Associates to study the safety standards found in Puerto Vallarta. The report concludes that Vallarta continues to be amongst the safest beach vacation destinations for international and national tourists.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico's second most popular beach vacation destination, is an annual vacation destination for millions of visitors from around the world. Thomas Dale & Associates (TDA), is a leading global investigative and security firm that lists several Fortune 100 companies amongst its clients.
The international security company visited the destination between April 6 to April 13 to conduct interviews and a through security and safety risk assessment on the ground. It has now published a comprehensive report in relation to all aspects of tourist security in the destination. In it, the firm concludes that Puerto Vallarta is one of the safest tourist destinations for international and national tourists..............................
